Wacky Face Mandarins
Looking for a fun indoor craft to keep the kids entertained? These wacky face mandarins will have the whole crew laughing for hours on end.
They’re kind of like the paper doll crafts most of us did as kids, except we’ve incorporated Halos mandarins to make this a cute, hands-on way to get excited about snack time.
Print out our wacky face template. If your printer can print directly onto card stock, that will make the features a little easier to handle. Otherwise, just print straight onto a white piece of paper. You’ll also need glue dots or a strong glue stick and craft scissors.
Older kids can cut out their favorite facial features for their wacky face mandarins. For younger children, parents may want to cut them out ahead of time.
There are all sorts of cute options: you can make a sassy chef, hipster clown, even a dapper gentleman with a bow tie. Kids can draw and cut out their own additions, too, to customize their characters. Add in some hobby items such as a soccer ball or golf clubs. Got a book worm on your hands? Sketch out a little chapter book for your wacky mandarin to have by his or her side. With a bit of paper and some imagination, kids can spend a whole afternoon dreaming up mandarin mischief.

You could even try to make little mandarin versions of people you know. What features would your teacher or aunt or uncle have? This silly activity is perfect for a kids’ birthday party or play date, with endless options to customize for your group. Get a whole classroom going with different fruits and vegetables (such as a banana, apple, kiwi or gourd) and see what the kids come up with!
What character will you create?
