Spring Party Treats with Mandarins
Are you all set to celebrate the season? Don’t forget the mandarins for your spring parties! Halos are ready to get dressed up and be included on your pretty tables for brunch gatherings. They look right at home at potlucks amongst deviled eggs and vegetable platters, and they offer up a sweet alternative to traditional cakes and cookies.
What you need:
orange card stock
green card stock
Measure two even sides on a sheet of orange card stock and draw a semi circle between them. We measured ours 14.5cm and then used a plate to make the semi circle. This measurement allows you to make two orange cones per letter sized piece of card stock.
Cut out the card, roll it and glue the end in place to make a cone shape.
Next, make the grass top for the carrot. Cut out a small piece of card stock, and then cut fringing into one side of it leaving about half a centimeter the other one side for gluing. Put glue along the uncut section and roll the paper fringe around a toothpick. When you’re done, it’ll kind of look like a tiny party horn.
Place the carrot top through the center of the mandarin and place the mandarin inside the cone. It looks super cute displayed in an ice cream cone holder!
These fun spring themed treats are the perfect addition to your table – and they make an excellent alternative to the usual sugary snacks that are often found at kids’ parties. Send them to sports practice, surprise the teacher with them or create a bouquet for the neighbors! You can even create cute party invites with the leftover paper. Use Halos stickers as sweet envelope seals and make it a whole mandarin-themed shindig.
