A Living Halos Heart Wreath
Spruce up your home, or give a sweet gift to a family member, neighbor or friend with a living wreath for Valentine’s Day! It’ll impart lovely citrus notes throughout the entryway while also serving as a reminder of the abundance of healthy, natural options that are around us this holiday.
There are a number of ways you can make these, but we used a metal heart that we already had around the office. Marquee signs have been all-the-rage lately, so it’s not too hard to find open shapes like this. You can also use florist wire to join Halos mandarins together and tie leaves amongst it, or use glue dots and wire to attach leaves and Halos mandarins to a heart-shaped stick wreath. Look around and think of the various ways you can upcycle things from your home!
To make this wreath, you will need:
Metal heart-shaped wall hanging or old heart marquee sign (similar here)
The Halos fit just perfectly inside our open marquee metal form. Use glue dots to adhere the Halos mandarins in place.
Weave greenery around the Halos mandarins, and feel free to use more glue dots to stick them down a little if you like. Depending on the size of your fixture, you may need to weave metal wire in amongst the Halos to hold them in place, too.
Attach a ribbon to the top for hanging.
This will look fabulous on the mantel, hanging on the door, or to give as a gift.
Crafts like this serve as excellent examples that you can find tons of creative opportunity in your own home, if only you look. Gather up your family and take a peek in the garage or go thrifting for fun stuff to upcycle!
