What are Wonderful Halos?
Wonderful® Halos™ are California-grown mandarins. And while every Halo is a mandarin, not every mandarin can be a Halo. That’s because to earn their halos, every fruit must meet three requirements – easy to peel, seedless, and super sweet. Moreover, Halos are all natural, non-GMO (non-genetically modified), and just the right size for kids’ hands. For snacking, kids’ lunch boxes, and families on the go, they’re nature’s perfect treat. What is a mandarin?
Mandarins are an easy-peel citrus variety. There are many types and subtypes of mandarins in the world, which grow in a number of places from California to Spain, Morocco, South Africa and Chile.
What kind of mandarins are Halos?
Halos include two mandarin varieties: Clementines, which are available from November to January, and W. Murcott Afourers, which are available February to April.
Where do Halos grow?
Halos are 100% Californian! They’re grown in the rich, fertile soil of the San Joaquin Valley, where abundant sunshine makes them sweet and delicious.
How do I keep my Halos fresh?
To keep your Halos delicious and juicy, store them in the refrigerator. They’ll stay sweet and ready to eat for up to two weeks.
How are Halos seedless?
The reason most citrus fruits contain seeds is because the flowers on the trees are pollinated by bees. However, we’re able to make Halos seedless by keeping bees away, either by protecting the trees with nets or by situating our groves far from where the bees live. We also use traditional plant breeding techniques to minimize the number of seeds in our mandarins. We regularly test our fruit for seeds, but occasionally a seed or two will slip by.
Are Halos genetically modified?
Halos are completely natural and non-GMO (non-genetically modified organisms). In fact, Halos were the first mandarin to be verified by the Non-GMO Project, North America’s only third-party verification organization.
Where can I download the Halos Fun game app?
You’ll find the Halos Fun app on our website, in the Apple Store or on Google Play. Don’t miss out on all the fun!

Is the water you use to grow Wonderful Halos safe?
California farmers use a wide range of water resources to irrigate their crops. Some of this water is naturally generated from oil production. Rather than allowing this “produced water” to go to waste during this historic drought, it is carefully treated, tested and approved for agricultural use, highly regulated, and well within safe drinking water standards. To demonstrate its quality, fruit and nut testing was conducted and showed absolutely no difference whatsoever regardless of the water source. Wonderful Halos stands 100% behind our promise of “pure goodness.” Our Halos mandarins are nutritious, wholesome, and above all, safe for kids and families everywhere.
